Rebel Kicks

Anthony and Steven Babino are Rebel Kicks, an alternative rock outfit from New York City. Edgy and clever, yet fun and catchy, the multi-layered music that Rebel Kicks creates is instantly, and undeniably memorable. Their unique sound and style fuses elements of rock, pop, electronica, & hip-hop, along with the incredible harmonic blend of the brothers' voices.
Given their father's career as a professional musician, music has always been a part of Anthony and Steven's lives, so it was only natural that they would follow in his footsteps. "From as far back as I can remember", says Anthony, "music has always been a constant. We grew up around the business, watching and learning from our Dad. Music is everything to us - we eat, sleep, and drink it."
Born and raised in New York City, the duo have been "performing together since we started talking", according to Steve. "It's what we do, it's who we are." Over the years, the brothers have become known for their electrifying, energetic live performances. “We want people to leave our live shows not only excited by our music, but also feeling energized, and good vibes from the experience.”
Rebel Kicks spent the majority of 2017 between New York and Los Angeles, writing, recording and producing their debut EP, due out later this year. “We got the chance to work and collaborate with some really incredible songwriters and producers on this EP”, says Anthony, including industry veterans Jason Pennock (2pac/Polyenso/The Pussycat Dolls), Abe Dertner, Jeff Blue (Macy Gray/Hoobastank/Korn/Linkin Park), Russ DeSalvo (Lou Reed/Celine Dion/ Lionel Richie), and Jimmy Greco (Paramore/Santana). "We're really excited about the new songs! We feel like we've truly found our voice as an artist, and honed in on a sound that’s ours; we can't wait to share it with everyone."

Lyrics:

There's a ghost in the machine A three ring circus act There's no turning back The joker's running wild We don't believe in the words bought off the rack I would swear to that I hear my mother say The sins of our father, whiskey, and Sinatra Yeah, they are to blame So, let's all raise a glass and toast to the fall Of the American Dream Fall, Fall of the American dream Fall, Fall of the American dream Staring at the sun, you'll never see Pupils tend to dilate The hour's getting late Things begin to escalate, can't breathe There's a lack of oxygen Deprive my lungs again I hear my mother say The sins of our father, whiskey, and Sinatra Yeah, they are to blame So, let's all raise a glass and toast to the fall Of the American Dream Fall, Fall of the American dream Fall, Fall of the American dream We've crawled a long way to nowhere Too afraid to go there And we won't let go We are the dreamers and deceivers Choir of believers And we all know we're One step closer to the ending No use in pretending it's under control So let's all raise a glass and toast to the fall Of the American Dream Fall, Fall of the American dream Fall, Fall of the American dream

Lyrics:

Dragged through the mud Blood on my knees Never again will I beg and plead Kicked in the dirt Scars on my feet This is the time when I stand up and lead I'm gonna win this time I'm gonna make it mine Take control of my life This is my song and this is the moment I am strong, I am unbroken This is my song and this is the moment I am strong, I am unbroken So many times tot in too deep Taken advantage of, used for cheap But now is the hour when I say no more I'm taking it back, closing the door Take control of my life This is my song and this is the moment I am strong, I am unbroken This is my song and this is the moment I am strong, I am unbroken Dragged through the mud Blood on my knees Never again will I Beg and plead This is my song and this is the moment I am strong, I am unbroken This is my song and this is the moment I am strong, I am unbroken
