Courier Club

4 albums

Courier Club banded together in Philadelphia during the summer of 2018. Offering a sound reminiscent of an early 2000’s sports video game soundtrack, they gained their initial following through a series of house parties and singles releases.

Courier Club’s debut EP, Drive Like Your Kids Live Here was written and recorded during Summer/Fall 2019 in the band’s hometown of Philadelphia. The EP features five songs with styles that range from high energy dance punk to somber acoustic. The lead single, “We All Want to Be There” is accompanied by a music video.

Lyrics:

You can take it if you want Have the whole town On the verge of something new But you'll never go In the back of the fire she said I know you can win them on the dance floor But what do you stand for Throw me a line Give me wine Give me something I don't want to start a fight with my head at night You can take all the time that you want to You can waste all the time Tonight I thought I would be better off With a card in my hand with some better worth And I thought we would end up like heroes now Maybe if I run I'd end up better off and better now And how could I ever chose The only thing I ever knew Give it up, give it up like a temper The only thing you want to do You weren't meant to Roll your sleeves There's a scene I will find Something to tell you about Tonight I thought I would be better off With a card in my hand with some better worth And I thought we would end up like heroes now Maybe if I run I'd end up better off and better now Fever in my brain has got me thinking You weren't as sly when you were scheming This commotion will go on and on unnoticed It doesn't matter what your saying Tonight I thought I would be better off With a card in my hand with some better worth And I thought we would end up like heroes now Maybe if I run I'd end up better off and better now

Lyrics:

Pulling me over Like a souvenir emotion Weighed down for hours In a loop Looking for antidote So lay it on me Late night maneuvers just to keep me well Kept up by a grifter with something to sell It's all you need to sell yourself Because it's so hard to Find empathy in an empty screen Are you diving deep Or did you sink? It takes time but it works wonders It takes time to fall in line It takes time to get the answers Maybe it's hard to find It takes time but it works wonders It takes time to fall in line I swear it's out there Maybe it's hard to find You know your mother got through it So why can’t you get it a grip? Guess it's a sign of the times TV makes it easy Drugs make it fun Fix a motorcycle Go for a run Because you're not there Where are you now It takes time but it works wonders It takes time to fall in line It takes time to get the answers Maybe it's hard to find It takes time but it works wonders It takes time to fall in line I swear it's out there Maybe it’s hard to find This is all I have It’s taking over Can’t go backwards Can’t find forwards Satisfaction Is out of fashion My numb hearts racing Faster and faster It takes time You say it again Like you know You say it again It's all lies You say it again Yeah you say it again It takes time

Where’s the guitars I can’t find them anywhere The floors a nightmare but no one seems to care They all just move around like their Fred Asterie Now I’m moved by a digital snare We all want to be there Name three songs said the snobs at the bar Do what you want said the cats from Mars Exclusion Confusion Just pile in the car We all want to be there

Brainless Bravado Splitting crowds and living rooms No time for clear eyes You just have to pick a fight And I don't have the answers but We need something Because we're lost On the finish line Your war under dim street lights Kangaroo Court Our future's feudal Misguided attack An ill-fated bluff There's too much noise outside I'd rather pull you close Not too many heads around here anymore Too many bets out on the floor For work not on a table But look at the mess you made (I want what you want) (I want what you want) We're on the same damn ship today (I want what you want) (I want what you want) And I don't have the answers but We need something Because we're lost On the finish line Your war under dim street lights Kangaroo Court Our future's feudal Misguided attack An ill-fated bluff There's too much noise outside I'd rather pull you close Lost on the finish line Your war under dim street lights Kangaroo Court Our future's feudal Misguided attack An ill-fated bluff There's too much noise outside I'd rather pull you close I'd rather pull you close I'd rather pull you close

Lyrics:

Do you like having me around I said I love you to death But that's not what you asked You didn’t pass the test Wishing for a blowout fight Then makeup sex But that's too bad You’re the fucking best Yeah you remind me of my favorite game It comforts me but it’s not as exciting to play Like it was when I was seventeen Flash forward five years now I hope I'm with you I hope I’m still around When I fall asleep right next to you I dream of faces I can’t erase Like I used to I blame you for blaming the stars Online forums looking for answers I already know Yeah I already know It comforts me but its not as exciting to play Flash forward five years now I hope I'm with you I hope I’m still around In five years I hope I’m still with you In five years I hope I’m still around Yeah i'll get there If I get there I’ll buy us a house away from the city If i get there i'll have a few kids If I get there I swear I'll finally be ready If I get there my words won’t feel so thin

Just another night in your west side apartment Until you said "you know you're the only one" They say we can't work 'Cause we met online And I never have felt this way So, maybe we should try Oh Liza, you'll be there on the comedown Oh Liza, you'll be everything Oh Liza, you'll be there on the comedown Oh Liza, there's fool's gold running through our veins And I know you hate how this town is turning up And you're moving to New York in a few months So, if you leave the city You need someone to come along You can call We'll be gone before they can care Oh Liza, you'll be there on the comedown Oh Liza, you'll be everything Oh Liza, you'll be there on the comedown Oh Liza, there's fool's gold running through our veins Through our veins Through our veins Through our veins Oh Liza, you'll be there on the comedown Oh Liza, you'll be everything Oh Liza, you'll be there on the comedown Oh Liza, there's fool's gold running through our veins

Lyrics:

Put it in the ground, exactly where it stands No need for this to run on because we're nearly there We're clocked out, next to nothing with no way to keep this Running I thought there was a reason playing this scene like an arcade Racking up a score up on a glass Screen while you're withering your worth away Slipping up on words you used to say with ease Now everybody knows that I know that she knows Prancing around the room like a soapbox Sunday Find a way back now, find a way back now You got something we could use around Last call for the B list actors Running around with their television tongues And paint by number smiles Yet I've known this is how things go for a while now I just can't see the good in it You and me yeah our time is through Picking up the pieces of old statues Clear heads let some light through Take on a new point of view We're clocked out, next to nothing with no way to keep this Running I thought there was a reason, I thought there was a way Now everybody knows that I know that she knows Prancing around the room like a soapbox Sunday Find a way back now, find a way back now You got something we could use around Oh, its old friends drawing battle lines over bad times No one ever wins Its new friends drawing battle lines over things they heard Oh, it never ends Now everybody knows that I know that she knows Prancing around the room like a soapbox Sunday Find a way back now, find a way back now You got something we could use around

Robby brought a new drug to the table The ones who couldn’t dance suddenly were able I took a few Bit off more than I could chew it's not like sitcoms on tv I feel everything Soundscape 1992 I just want to dance with you Ran off to meet you Through the crowd For a mile Can’t speak your name Can’t define your style Because i wasn’t born And neither were you Find my feet Lose my doom I wouldn't mind being stuck here with you Soundscape 1992 I just want to dance with you Chinese takeout Best in town Daft Punk sure as hell not playing at our house Never saw The Hives live but i saw U2 Found our taste from soundtracks on Playstation 2 There’s too many dreams for one brain to vet So I went looking for stimpaks in an office full of plastic plants And if we’re all gonna be on fire in the next 20 years I guess we’ll just get high and pretend It’s Berlin ‘92 Soundscape 1992 I just want to dance with you
